These slides were presented at YAPC::Europe 2003, the European Perl Conference held in Paris. The tutorial took 95 minutes, with a lot of detailed explanations about items presented on the slides, which are partially provided as notes to the slide copies on these pages.

The MailBox distribution is a large set of modules (in total over 140 of them), joint into one distribution available from Perl's CPAN archive. The modules can be used for various kinds of automatic e-mail processing. Performance may not be sufficient to create a user agent with it, although it has not been tried yet.

MailBox was written by Mark Overmeer, and receives financial support from the Dutch NLnet Foundation which helps to ensure continuous development.
