Perl/Tk saves your favourite tools

next: Contents -2

During this tutorial, I'll first show you how Tk works in combination with Perl, compared to with Tcl. Then, some of your Perl-knowledge will be refreshed, hopefully to a level where the examples can be understood.

Then we will be ready to see some small Tk examples. Don't expect to know everything about Tk in three hours: it is much too large. At least you need to buy a book (and/or booklet) for the overview.

The creation of new widgets may be quite hard for people with little experience in object orientation, although with an example piece of code at hand most people will be able to do it themselves.
